‘Tis the season....for giving to those who would normally not receive.
Each holiday season, The Arc of the Triangle reaches out to over 100 children and adults with developmental disabilities by determining their needs and provides them with a gift. Ot should be noted some of theses individual will not receive anything if not for this simple gesture.
Often, these individuals request only essential items such as socks, comforters, coats, and other simple necessities and that we sometimes take for granted. One simple gift can make a better holiday for someone.
Every year individuals, local companies, and faith communities have generously supported this effort. We will gladly welcome new supporters to this program as we find there are more people in need this year than ever. We are requesting $50 or a gift for each person on our list.
If you can help us spread extra holiday cheer this year by adding one or more of these people to your gift list or giving tree, please call Jennifer at The Arc of the Triangle at 919-942-5119, x117 or send an email.
Three ways individuals can give:
- You can be assigned names and gift ideas*. Gift donations due by Friday, December 14th to one of our offices.
- You can mail us a check made payable to The Arc of the Triangle with a notation “Holiday Gift Drive 2018” in the memo line. ($50 will purchase a gift for 1 person) Monetary donations need to be received at The Arc by Monday, December 10, 2018 to ensure we have time to shop!
The deadlines are early to ensure gifts are purchased and wrapped, ready for a timely delivery. If your organization needs more time to get your donation together, please call the office to arrange a special date.
*We stress these need to be new gifts and what the individual asks for. We also request that you not wrap gifts.
[However, we will happily accept donations of gift boxes, wrapping paper, ribbon, and tape.] :)
For over 20 years, the Arc has proudly held our annual Holiday Gift Drive and we hope to provide gifts to everyone on our list. During the hectic holiday season, we tend to forgot there are people out there who can not afford even the basic needs for life. Therefore, getting a head start now will mean a even more good cheer during the holidays.
We hope you will join us in spreading some holiday cheer! Thank you in advance for your support for the individuals from The Arc of the Triangle!
