Specialized Recreation and Inclusion Services offers a variety of programs for individuals with physical or developmental disabilities, as well as for those with visual or hearing impairments. Fitness, sports, social activities, overnight trips, arts and crafts, and summer camps are just some of the programs offered. Each program is designed to meet the needs and interests of participants. Whether you prefer social outings, learning a new skill, or trips, there is sure to be a program that will interest you. Some eligibility restrictions may apply.

The Raleigh Parks, Recreation and Cultural Resources Department welcomes the participation of all individuals, including those with disabilities or special needs. We are committed to compliance with the ADA and provide reasonable accommodations to facilitate program participation. For participants with special circumstances who wish to participate in any typical program, some accommodations may be available to provide inclusive experiences. We provide Inclusion Services to assist with determining and implementing appropriate accommodations.

Specialized Recreation Services offers many programs to meet the recreational needs of youth (ages 12 and under), teens/young adults (ages 13-20), and adults (ages 21 and up) with developmental disabilities.
