2022 Arc Awards
The Arc of the Triangle is seeking nominations for this year’s awards.
If you know an individual or group that meets the criteria in the following categories, we would like the opportunity to recognize them. Nominate a person or group for their outstanding service to the Intellectual and Developmental Disability [IDD] community.
Nominations are due April 15, 2022.

AWARD CATEGORIES
COMMUNITY PARTNER OF THE YEAR – a business or organization that has directly contributed to the success of The Arc of the Triangle and the improvement of its services, programs, growth, etc.
Arc of the Triangle SUPPORT PROFESSIONAL or JOB COACH OF THE YEAR – an award for extraordinary commitment by an employee of The Arc of the Triangle providing direct support or job coaching to an Arc participant.
DIRECT CARE PROFESSIONAL OF THE YEAR* — an award for extraordinary commitment by an individual employed in the Triangle area to provide direct support, service, or care to a person/people with IDD while fostering growth, independence, community inclusion and dignity. (Examples: support staff, bus drivers, teacher’s aides, one-on-one support in school)
EMPLOYER OF THE YEAR — a Triangle area employer with an exceptional record of providing inclusive competitive employment opportunities for people with IDD.
PROFESSIONAL OF THE YEAR* — an individual, employed in the Triangle area working in the IDD community who has demonstrated sensitivity and the ability to provide outstanding support which results in increased independence for people with IDD.
SELF-ADVOCATE OF THE YEAR – a self-advocate who lives in the Triangle area who has shown determination and self-advocacy skills in his/her community, work place, school, etc.
SIBLING OF THE YEAR – the sibling of a person with IDD whose actions and efforts at home and in the community have made a positive impact on their sibling, family and community.
TEACHER OF THE YEAR — A teacher (special or general education) who has demonstrated excellence in teaching and supporting students with IDD.
VOLUNTEER OF THE YEAR — a volunteer who has given generously of his/her time and talent to benefit people with IDD and The Arc of the Triangle.

The Awards Committee will review all nominations and make its selections on the information provided on the nomination form.
Awards will be presented at our Annual Meeting on May 17th at Summit Church in Durham.
Be sure to include all of the information requested. You may include supplemental material such as newspaper articles, etc, but it is not required. Both the nominator and award recipient will be notified.
